Bio
Born June 23rd, 1971 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg, grew up in Bogotá (Colombia), Istanbul (Turkey), Bonn-Bad Godesberg (Germany), Rome (Italy). According to Wikipedia, that makes me a Third Culture Kid. Finished a “Diplom Informatiker” degree at the Clausthal University of Technology in Computer Science (now that would probably be called a “Master’s degree”). During my university time, I was CEO of a pub, played a role in a theater, helped publish a newspaper and showed movies in the local cinema. My thesis was around helping create the first web-enabled digital set top box project in Germany. That was 1997-98. In 1998 I joined Sun Microsystems and in 2012 I left Oracle to join AWS where I got to learn about and build with cool technology every day. Since June 2025, I explore the world of AI and how it affects personal and job productivity, building my own consultancy offering.
